#MYTHOUGHTSMONDAY!
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
- Isaiah 40 v. 31
There are several types of waiting. And here is listing a few…
I) The waiting when I set myself apart to seek God for an
experience.
II) The waiting when I’m trusting God for a need.
III) The waiting when I need a miracle/ an expectation to be
met.
IV) The waiting when I’m faced with a difficult, confusing
and challenging situation.
V) The waiting to fulfill purpose.
VI) The waiting when I need a promotion/ elevation to a next
level, position or phase.
Waiting on God requires an attitude…
Firstly, I have to trust that God is with me. Isaiah 43 v.
1-2
“But now thus saith the Lord for I have redeemed thee…”
“When thou passet through the waters, I will be with thee…”
Secondly, I have to be strong in faith. Romans 4 v. 18-22
“Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the
father of many nations…”
“He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in
faith, giving glory to God…”
Thirdly, I have to bask in the knowledge that his grace
abounds richly. 2 Corinthians 12 v. 8-9
“For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might
depart from me.
And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee…”
And he said unto me, my grace is sufficient for thee…”
Fourthly, there has to be a preparation on my part. ‘Be
proactive.’ An inquisition about the need for the wait. 1 Chronicles 12 v. 32,
Proverbs 16 v. 1, Hebrews 11 v. 24-25
“And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had
understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…”
“The preparations of the heart in man, and the answers of
the tongue, is from the Lord.”
Expectations gives a guide/ direction for preparation.
Preparation assures me of expectation.
The bottom line is thus…
If I'm waiting to be found or seeking a life partner, then I
have to not only be available but I need to prepare to be the best as a wife/
husband. I don’t have to wait until that guy/ lady comes into my life before I
start developing or building myself to fit into that role.
1 Corinthians 7 v. 33, Ephesians 5 v. 22-33, Proverbs 12 v. 4; 14 v. 1
1 Corinthians 7 v. 33, Ephesians 5 v. 22-33, Proverbs 12 v. 4; 14 v. 1
If I'm waiting for a promotion in my career/ work-place, I
have to know that promotion doesn't come from the east, west or south, but from
God. With that knowledge, I still have to be diligent in my business and
faithful with little.
Psalm 75 v. 6-7, Proverbs 22 v. 29; 24 v. 33-34
Psalm 75 v. 6-7, Proverbs 22 v. 29; 24 v. 33-34
If I'm waiting to fulfil purpose, I don’t have to just stand
and watch to see what he’ll say to me, but I need to have my writing tools
ready. I have to ask God to reveal them to my spirit. I also need to understand
that not every revelation received needs immediate conferring, until I am fully
convinced with knowledge, insight and understanding of it.
Habakkuk 2 v. 1-3, 1 Corinthians 2 v. 9-12, Galatians 1 v. 16-18
Habakkuk 2 v. 1-3, 1 Corinthians 2 v. 9-12, Galatians 1 v. 16-18
If I wait with the right attitude, then I’ll be free from
depression, anxiety, fear and the likes.
But I’ll be focus to know the reason for my wait.
And wise enough to be patient and trust God while I'm waiting.
But I’ll be focus to know the reason for my wait.
And wise enough to be patient and trust God while I'm waiting.
